This warm and generous couple hosted their wedding day at the one and only Yandina Station. Lisa and Dave are from a small town called Gayndah, just west of Hervey Bay and Fraser Island and so the country chic feel of Yandina Station suited them perfectly.
They preened and prepared themselves at Coolum Caprice with epic views of Coolum Beach.
The ceremony was outside under the Moreton Bay Fig Tree where they so emotionally said "I do" to each other. The tears could not be held back, especially from Lisa's gorgeous bridesmaids. Emotions ran high when the bride and groom exchanged vows, rings and then sealed the deal with a kiss. The emotions quickly turned into laughter post ceremony with hugs of congratulations and celebration all around.
We explored the grounds with the bridal party for some photographic portraits. Dave and his groomsmen were definitely a highlight when they took hold of the decorative umbrellas that were meant for the bridesmaids - or were they?
The reception rolled on in the old dairy at Yandina Station with new flooring which looks outstanding and was an awesome platform for this happy, humble duo's celebration dinner. The speeches from Lisa and Dave's loved ones were beyond heartwarming. But the dancing... well that's another story. This bunch of Gayndahnians know how to stomp their way around a dance floor. Fun, happy, silly, crazy. None of these words can possibly describe the awesome dancing styles that took place in the old dairy of Yandina Station on Sunday, April 2, 2017. There's no doubt this particular evening will go down in the history books as one of the most epic nights of dancing ever seen at Yandina Station.
We wish you all the love, happiness and everything in between for your lives together Lisa and Dave.

Autumn Kingfisher Bay Resort, Fraser Island Destination Wedding - Emily & Tom
The forecast for rain, rain and more rain was not so welcome at this bride and groom's Fraser Island destination wedding. Nevertheless the emotion of Emily and Tom's wedding rendered the weather forecast meaningless. Tom's reaction to his bride walking down the isle was without a doubt one of the most openly heartfelt moments we've witnessed at a wedding.
Thankfully the rain subsided just after their ceremony finished so the bride and groom and all their guests could head to the beach for some portraits. The wind died down enough to bring out our trusty drone for some aerial photography before heading into the lush bushland surrounding Kingfisher Bay Resort.
The deck reception looked so stunning! There were loads of games like giant jenga, twister, giant pickup sticks, giant snakes and ladders - SO. MUCH. FUN. Oh and instead of a sweet wedding cake this awesome bride and groom chose to have a layered cake made with all kinds of cheeses. Brilliant.
Despite the rain we don't believe Emily and Tom could have hoped for a better wedding day.
We wish you both all the very best and the happiest of days, weeks and years together!

Elephant Rock, Currumbin Beach (Gold Coast) Pre-Wedding Session
Elephant Rock in the Gold Coast turned on its absolute best charms for Joyce and Jacky's pre-wedding photography session. They flew all the way from their home city of Hong Kong to enjoy this beautiful rocky feature on Currumbin Beach.
A pre-wedding session in Hong Kong (and many parts of Asia and South-East Asia) is similar to an engagement shoot but the bride-and-groom-to-be wear wedding-style clothing. Joyce wore a wedding dress but Jacky changed into 3 or 4 different outfits throughout our two hour session. This added a fresh element to each frame that I shot and every different area we photographed in.
The Currumbin, Gold Coast sunset was so stunning on this particular evening and a great backdrop to the end of the pre-wedding photo shoot.
We all didn't want the evening to end especially once we started talking about Radiohead and Muse.
See you in Hong Kong Joyce and Jacky so we can continue our musical chats. I look forward to seeing you rock on stage also Jacky - could be another great opportunity to photograph you!
Enjoy...

Our Favourite Wedding Photos of 2016 - The Sunshine Coast & Beyond!
2016 has been a HUGE year of wedding photography for us! We've explored some gorgeous cities, venues and properties for the weddings we photographed from Fraser Island & Stradbroke Island to The Sunshine Coast to Brisbane, Toowoomba, The Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Bangalow and beyond.
The love stories we have witnessed between the couples we've worked with have been nothing short of uplifting, moving, gut-wrenching and inspiring.
Mikala and I often say to each other after finishing a wedding that we feel like part of the bride's and groom's families - creepy but true :) We always get swept up in the relationships and emotions of what is one of the absolute most important days of their lives.
We really have met, worked and bonded with some extraordinarily loving souls this year. If we happen to bump into any of you (brides and grooms) post wedding, we're not stalking you just because we miss you and want to hang out with you some more - promise :)
The happiest of new years and a prosperous 2017 to all of you and to the amazing duo's we framed throughout 2016 in our camera lenses. Keep on loving each other just like the day you were married and we'll see some of you when we're the photographers at your friend's weddings soon!
Enjoy the year that was...
